Aqualyx fat dissolving injections

About our Aqualyx Treatments

What are aqualyx fat dissolving injections?

Aqualyx is an injectable solution that is used to 'dissolve' stubborn pockets of fat on the body or double chin area to help with your body goals. We al have areas of fat under the skin, which just wont go with diet and exercise no matter how strict we are. This is especially true as we get older. Now there is a safe, effective treatment to PERMANENTLY get rid of those stubborn pockets of fat.

How is it done?

The solution, which was developed by an Italian professor of plastic surgery, is injected into the fat tissues under the skin using a microcannula. Dr. Sam mixes the solution with local anaesthetic to numb as it's injected in order to maxiise your comfort during the procedure.

How does it work?

It works by causing the individual fat cells to swell and break up. The broken fat cells are then cleared from the body by the lymphatic drainage system and removed via the kidneys. It's very important, therefore, to drink plenty of water in the days running up to and for two weeks after the treatment is done.

What can I expect?

It is very normal and expected to have a little bit of stinging during the treatment. There may be some redness affecting the skin and the fat will swell and become 'squigy' for a few days after. This is generally a good sign as it means the fat cells are swelling and breaking down. It's fine to take painkiller before and after treatment, but avoid anti-inflammaories as these can cause bood thinning and increase the risk of bruising.

How much can be treated at once?

The maximum number of vial we can use in one session is 5. The number used depends on the size of the area being treated. Typically people need between 2 and 5 sessions a month apart to get the fullest results.

How long does it last?

The fat that is treated and that responds to treatment is gone forever. Therefore, if you maintain a healthy lifestyle and diet, the effects are permanent.
