What Are HA Dermal Fillers?

The dermal fillers used for facial rejuvenation at EdenMed are all composed of hyaluronic acid, a substance that occurs naturally in the human body.  They break down gradually over a period of months.  There are different types of hyaluronic acid fillers, each suited to distinct applications.  The one I choose for you will match your needs.  And, as far as possible, the end results you’re aiming for.  I use Belotero and Saypha predominantly. I'll also use Juvederm Vycross dermal filler technology on request at an additional charge.

Hyaluronic acid dermal filler treatments work by restoring volume in the skin back to its fresher, more youthful appearance, giving a firmer definition (to your jaw or chin, for example) and reducing the appearance of skin laxity. Importantly, its only function is to provide volume. At EdenMed Clinic, we have some amazing technology, such as Endolift and Scition BBL Lasers to improve skin firmness and stimulate collagen production.

And, there’s…

There are also other, non-hyaluronic acid dermal fillers.  For example, Radiesse and Sculptra. These dermal filers have different properties, such as skin remodelling and collagen formation. I use Radiesse dermal filler often to provide filling and collagen stimulation. Sculptra dermal filler can be used in a dilute form to provide long lasting collagen stimulation.

How I Work

• We’ll have an in-depth consultation before the hyaluronic acid dermal filler treatment starts.  I’m happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have – so, don’t be nervous, fire away. 

• To give you better results, a safer process and substantially reduced discomfort and bruising, I'm a leading expert in the use of a microcannula.  With extensive experience of this technique, my medical know-how as an eye surgeon, as well as an understanding of the facial structure of the face, is your gain.  Please be reassured that you will be in safe hands.

• I apply a microcannula through a small “port” in the skin, lightly gliding it through the layers of tissue. Through ultra-gentle separation of the layers, the device deposits the filer into the superficial or deeper tissues. 

• I may also use Botulinum Toxin (BTX) to enhance the results, for a natural and effective outcome. 

A Note on Safety

Whilst risk-free treatments don’t exist – anywhere, in fact – the likelihood of complications is incredibly low.  Indeed, it’s less than 1%.  It's incredibly safe and effective. Again, let me allay your fears in our consultation. You can see the dermal filler consent form here.

Expect to pay £450 for the first ml and £200 per ml thereafter. Typically, a miniscuplt of 4 ml can treat temples, cheeks, jawangle, lips, prejowls (sometimes more and sometimes less, depending on your starting point).
