What is PROFHILO?
Profhilo is the first BDDE-free stabilised injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) based product for treating skin laxity.
With one of the highest concentrations of HA on the market (64mg / 2ml) it is not only collagen boosting and hydrating for the skin, but also remodels the ageing and sagging tissue. Profhilo delivers great results as a treatment on its own or in combination with other aesthetics treatments currently on offer.
How does Profhilo work?
As a stabilised product, Prohilo lasts in the skin for about 4 weeks. During this time the different molecular complex sizes of hyaluronic acid stimulte production of 4 different types of collagen as well as elastin in the skin. This neocollagenesis (new collagen formation) in the skin leads to significant improvement in its appearance by tightening, lifting and hydrating the skin all at the same time.
What makes Profhilo so unique and ground breaking in cosmetic medicine?
There are many characteristics that make Profhilo unique from anything else available on the market right now. Firstly, it is a completely pure form of hyaluronic acid (HA). HA is a ubiquitous protein, in other words, it is a natural substance found in every living creature on the planet. Profhilo is stabilised into high density HA and low density HA by a thermal process. That means that there is no other chemical contained within the hyalurnic acid gel other than the completely natural HA itself.
Therefore, there is no risk, as far as can be medically guaranteed, of allergy or known adverse long term effects. Is the application of Profhilo safe?
Dr. Sam uses Profhilo in a novel way, usually as part of combination treatment, but also as a stand alone treatment if his client so wishes. For safety reasons, Dr. Sam prefers to use a microcannula to sculpt and stimulate bioremodelling (changing the skin structure) with Prohilo. This greatly enhances the safety and comfort of the procedure and greatly reduces the risks.
What's the down time with Profhilo treatment?
Generally speaking there is no down time and you will see results after a few days of the treatment. Final results will be about 6 weeks later. You can resume normal activities just a couple of hours after treatment.

The treatment begins with a detailed discussion and analysis of your concerns and aspirations. Dr. Sam will observe your facial contours and talk to you about areas you may not be aware of which contribute to the concern you raise. Often treating an area away from the perceived problem will result in the best aesthetic outcome. This can be especially true when combining a variety of treatments, such as using anti-wrinkle treatment and fillers, or using fillers in combinations of treatment areas, such as cheek and tear trough. Dr. Sam will use the same meticulous approach to your filler treatment that he would if operating. Your skin will be cleansed and a numbing cream applied. Dermal filler can then be administered predominantly using an advanced blunt microcannula technique. Other techniques may be adopted depending on the desired end result.
The results of profhilo treatment are visible after a few days. The outcome lasts for 3 to 6 months.
