What is cryolipolysis?
Cryolipolysis (cold, fat, break), or fat freezing, is a natural way to help get rid of stubborn fat deposits.
How does cryolipolysis work?
Cold temperature, down to -8 degrees Celsius, are delivered by a massaging technique to the treatment areas. Fat cells are highly susceptible to the cold temperature. They then undergo fragmentation and over a few weeks the fat is removed via the lymphatic drainage system.
Is cryolipolysis safe?
Cryolipolysis is considered a safe, natural, non surgical way to help remove unwanted subcutaneous fat when applied through experienced and qualified hands. It’s one of the very top beauty procedures carried out in France and America.
Can cryolipolysis be used on any part of the body and are there any risks?
Cryolipolysis cannot be used on the face or breasts, but can be used anywhere else, including the double chin, inner and outer thighs, calves and ankles, abdomen, love handles, back and upper arms.
Because it only uses coldness to break fat cells, there are very few risks. It cannot be used if you are pregnant or have cancer. Also, it does not break down visceral fat (the internal fat that cushions your organs such as liver, spleen and kidneys).
How long does cryolipolysis take to do, how do I know if it works and how long will it last?
Edenmed Aesthetics recommends a course of 5 treatments 2 weeks apart. Each treatment takes 30mins and is generally painless. The area being treated is measured and photos taken for comparison at the review appointment. On average people lose 38% of their fat in the treated area. The lost fat is for life, however, we recommend a healthy diet and lifestyle to keep the fat off, otherwise new fat cells will be laid down by the body.
