In rare circumstances this may be permanent. For this reason, we cannot use BBL on black skinned (Fitzpatrick 6) individuals. If you have brown skin, BBL can be used with caution. These side effects are typically short-lived and subside within a few hours to couple of days.

Burns: With any light therapy (Laser, BBL, IPL), there is a risk of burning the skin. Generally, the risk of a superficial burn is around 1 in 1,000 at EdenMed Clinic. If this does occur, it will generally be transient and fully resolve in a few days. Pigment changes that result may take a few weeks to resolve, but as you can see from the figures, the individual risk of this is very small, though not zero.
