Sciton BBL: What happens to the skin as we age and where does the Sciton BBL skin laser come in?
Here we're talking about Sciton BBL, BroadBand Light, the most advanced Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) photo skin rejuvenation system in the world - and available in Bournemouth and Chelsea.
Even before we start showing external signs of aging, our skin undergoes internal, invisible changes. Ultimately, resulting in poorer quality. Issues like losing collagen lead to sagginess and wrinkles. The pigmentation may change, leading to dark spots and uneven complexion. And redness and inflammation from sun exposure, rosacea and chronic skin inflammation may be evident.
Facial Rejuvenation in Bournemouth and Chelsea with Sciton BBL Hero
Many patients searching for facial skin rejuvenation in Bournemouth or Chelsea are concerned about
redness, pigmentation, uneven skin tone and early signs of ageing.
Sciton BBL is one of the most advanced technologies for improving overall skin health.
The treatment works by delivering precise wavelengths of broadband light into the skin
to stimulate collagen, improve DNA repair pathways and restore a clearer, more even complexion.
At EdenMed Clinic in Bournemouth and Chelsea, Sciton BBL is frequently combined with other
treatments including
Endolift,
RF microneedling,
HIFU and
Sculptra to create a comprehensive non-surgical rejuvenation plan.
Annie Dollar is EdenMed's nutrition, skin care and Sciton BBL expert in Bournemouth and will be happy to help you take a holistic approach to your skin care regime. Follow her approach to health and wellbeing on Instagram @annie_of_edenmed.
What's our ethos and how does Sciton BBL fit within our approach both in Bournemouth and Chelsea?
We often speak about "prevention" being better than "cure". In other words, why wait until the changes have progressed so far that your skin shows the effects before you try to correct it? Research has shown that even by our mid twenties, we are starting to lose significant amounts of collagen from our skin, we're developing underlying skin conditions such as rosacea, and starting the early aging process through persistent DNA damage.
Why We Combine Sciton BBL Hero with Other Treatments
Ageing affects the skin in multiple ways including loss of collagen, changes in skin pigmentation, reduced elasticity and weakening facial support structures.
For this reason Dr Sam often recommends a multimodality treatment approach. Sciton BBL improves skin health and complexion while other treatments address deeper layers of ageing.
- HIFU – tightens deeper tissue using focused ultrasound
- Endolift – laser tightening and contouring
- RF microneedling – stimulates collagen and elastin
- Sculptra – rebuilds collagen gradually
- Botox – softens dynamic wrinkles
- Dermal Fillers - revolumise sucken pockets
This combination approach is particularly helpful for older patients who want holistic facial rejuvenation. Check out my posts on Instagram @dr_sam_ghazawy and on Facebook.
Does Sciton BBL hurt?
Your comfort is very important to us. At all stages, we will check that you are comfortable. It can feel a little hot and to help with that, we use the same thermoregulating properties of Sapphire crystal in the laser application that's used in Rolex watches. It's truly luxurious.
Is Sciton BBL safe?
All cosmetic procedures carry a small risk. Overall, because we're using natural light energy, photons at specific wavelengths, it is one of the very safest procedures available, and certainly much less risky than surgery. It basically stimulates your own body's repair mechanisms to induce collagen and reduce chronic skin inflammatory reactions, such as those in acne, rosacea and folliculitis. We have to be careful, though. BBL will permanently reduce hair growth. If you're male we need to avoid your beard area. Tap on Alice Hart-Davis for an 'independent' opinion Sciton BBL.
Both Annie and Dr. Sam have undergone hours of extensive training in BBL.
